John, I like the composition of this photo. It just shouts Cold. Also like the detail you caught in the snow and in the shadows. Fine job all around. Thanks for sharing.

That's a spectacular sunburst and the scene just shouts clear and very cold. I like the diagonal that the flare creates and the fact that it's subtle enough not to dominate. I do see a few dust spots in the sky that it would be good (and easy) to clean up.

Cccold! Excellent sun star and comp, with a great job on the shadows and highlights. For this kind of sunny scene, I usually try to brighten the snow so it's a little more white than gray, but that's a matter of taste. Another matter of taste gives you an option to remove all thought of the camera by cloning out the flare spots, leaving you with nothing but a natural scene the way you would see it without a camera lens to create artifacts. As posted, however, the lens flare adds another layer of interest.

Brrrrr. I agree that the snow could be brighter. The sun flare may be right for this challenge, but I think I would clone them out. I like the sunburst.

Great sunburst and nice comp in this image, John. Good handling of the bright sun but agree about whitening the snow and cloning out the flare spots. . .although I guess that is part of this challenge. We haven't had much snow around here but by this time tomorrow, we will probably have much more snow than this on the ground here in the NE. Nice snow scene; I like the old buildings' character too.

Looks like a nice place to stay Great sunburst & I like the flares...I also like the darkness of the snow as it puts the brightness of the sun in perspective!

Looks cool. Love the perfect sunstar, and the I think the flare works pretty well. I think the snow could be a bit brighter - it looks pretty much grey here.
