I had never seen an Arbutus {Strawberry Tree} that had shed all of it's bark at once. Only found in a few spots on West Coast. The bright red trunk caught my attention.

This is one of my favorite trees...and presented so beautifully! I love the way the smooth bark glows & the surrounding fall colors!

I really like the way the tree stands out from everything els and yet still manages to blend in with its surroundings. Really nice photo Bill.

Love the shape and light on the trunk. Might consider cropping the very top to eliminate the bright patches.

I'm with Kurt regarding the crop, what a unique looking tree. Beautiful colors surrounding it. The different textures and tones create nice separation - well done.

Bill, Yes, this would have caught my attention too! Really a cool looking tree and I like how you captured it. Nice work with your comp and the light, color and detail look great. I too think a crop of the top to eliminate the bright sky would add to the image. Nice work!...

That's really a great looking tree, and some beautiful forest around it. I couldn't believe you said it was in the Northwest. I suppose it could be quite far from the areas I'm familiar with and still be on the West Coast
