White Ibis

So often when I'm in Florida I see this bird in a flock, constantly moving along the grass eating away or wading in the shallows constantly moving. It was nice to have it on a perch like this with some good early morning lighting.

Nikon D300s 300 f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/8
1/2500s
ISO 250
-.67 EC

Cropped to about 70% for compositional purposes, minor adjustments in CS5 on 27" iMac

Very good light, details, and exposure Luke.
This comp works fine for me, but you might consider a 4:5 with less up top as an alternate.
Well done!! :toast:

Gorgeous light on this lovely individual. Love the perch, too. I would consider taking a bit off the top, as mentioned, but an all-around winning image as posted.

Sweet light and really nice pose.
Fine handling of the tough whites.

You pretty much nailed it, Luke. And you are right—about the only time you find these guys still is perched.

nice one, Luke. nice light, interesting perch, good pose, nice mottled bg, and good techs. I agree you could take some off the top, but it works very well as posted.
