This is our first calla of 2013. We have a large patch of them near our flagpole. The lighting here is from the spotlights we have on the ground illuminating the flag. When I noticed the light from underneath the flower lighting it up this way I thought it might be fun to shoot and I'm actually pretty pleased with how it turned out. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill

I can see why you are pleased with this one. The lighting is just right and there is just enough DOF to show the tip of spadix. Like the repeating arching pattern. :toast:

Very intimate perspective with the curves leading the way. The special lighting effect really brings this to the next level.

It is pleasing! Bill, this is quite masterful. I've shied away from partial images, mostly because mine never look this good. But this is harmonious. :toast:

Absolutely splendid composition, Bill ! I also like the balance between the soft areas and the detail on the spadix tip and the right side petal. Above all, what a lovely glow from deep in the flower.

Bill, this image fascinates me. There is an incredible strength in the light coming up together with the lifting 'petals' that overwhelm the frame. Really splendid.
Cheers.
