Barry, I like the sharp detail and lighting on this shot. A nice capture for sure.

I like the focused gaze somewhere off set. I might be tempted to warm the color balance just a little, maybe enough to make the tongue pink. If you could soften the focus on that one stem to the left of her face it would appear less prominent and obtrusive. The lower corners are rather bright, would be an easy fix to darken those areas a little, personal opinion only of course. The very dark background is understandable considering the time of day and bright setting sun illuminating the fox. However, to the casual observer it might be a little confusing to understand why that background is "nighttime". Increasing the blacks a little might balance the lighting to create a lighting situation more akin to what the better dynamic range of the human eye would perceive. Over all, a fine fox photo. Your Texas foxes look quite different from the foxes we see up here in Canada.

The expression and detail of this fox is excellent. I quite like the drama of the dark background and really, my only wish would have been for you to have a shooting situation without the bits of foreground becoming oof obstructions.

I like the way the dark background allows the well exposed fox to stand out. The open mouth and eye lights really add to the portrait. I agree the foreground is a slight distraction that can be worked on, and that a slight warming might be useful. Great shot!

This is a really nice picture! The fox is so cute and I love how her mouth is open. She is so sharp but her fur looks like it would be really soft! I really like the soft grass in front and dark background.

I'm always fascinated by foxes and this is a real beauty, a kind I've never seen before. I like everything about the shot, maybe the vibrance of the colours can be tweaked a bit, but that's a minor thing and a matter of taste. I personally love OOF FG's so to me that also adds to the image.
