Several years ago I had taken many ice design pictures along the creek behind my house. I have already posted some of these previously in various galleries but I don't think I have posted this one before. The designs were amazing that day!

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/25 for 1/3 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

I am convinced. Ice is a remarkable subject for macro photography, and I am sure tha some folks prefer it to the buds and bugs of summer. It can however, be difficult to find at times over much of the country. This photo is whimsical and fun. It is also well-executed. At f25, you knew what you were looking for. Bubbles within bubbles. Excellent.

What a wonderful graphic. The triple bubble up top is great, but I especially like how you included the sweeping edge at the bottom.

great scene, with the sweeping lower pattern complimenting the bubbles nicely

What graceful shapes, and interesting bubbles. There's lots of ice where I live, but most of the time sights like this, with clear ice not covered by snow seem to be illusive. The sunlight is at the perfect angle, too. Excellent artistic and technical capture.

Carolyn, I too like the sweep of the ice at the bottom and the bubbles within the bubbles. The large dark area from the larger bubble to the lower left where it intersects with lower dark area in the bottom left of the image looks like a shadow of the large bubble. After that complicated description(whew) you have a superb image. Well done.

The depth within the ice as seen by the different cracks, lines and bubbles stands out to me. Cool ice abstract to look at.

The triple bubble leads the viewer into the dark ice center. The curve balances the composition. Very nice ice abstract, Carolyn.
