Spider on flower buds

I'm not sure what type of spider this is, so if anyone can provide ID, it would be appreciated. I found him in my flower beds resting on the buds of a Japanese Anemone flower.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/13 for 1/2 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, natural lighting.

I can't help with the ID, Carolyn, but I like the image a lot. I like the nice light and nicely saturated colors, and the way the spider is rendered against the contrasting greenery. The spider has good detail and the bg is complementary. Excellent overall. :toast:

The greens really set off the spider. Nicely done. As to the id, I'd put it in that general group of wolf spiders. They hunt for prey and don't do webs although I see what looks like a few strands of webbing so guess I'm all wet. Oh, well, I still like it.

Scarry looking...Wolf spiders are pretty much the only spiders I don't particularly like (and tarantulas). I don't know if I'd even take a pic of it...this coming from a girl who photographs snakes regularly.LOL Anyway, don't have any complaints about this one

I think it must be the Itsy Bitsy Spider, but it's lost the water spout. The colors and pattern in this little critter are great as are the bright green leaves and the cottony buds. Found Sunday, Wow, that's one hardy spider.

Mark: This "Istsy Bitsy Spider" was not found Sunday! I took the picture this summer. No such bugs to be found in our area this time of year. No id yet?. . .but don't think it's a wolf spider. It looked just like a little harmless garden-type spider.

Holly: Spiders and snakes are two of my strong dislikes! However, since I've been into macro photography, I've found spiders don't bother me as much as they used to. Now the snakes you photograph. . .they would give me nightmares! No way am I going to take their picture.

The anemone flower makes an interesting 'perch' Carolyn, I like it.
I also like all the green in the frame, it contrasts the spiders colors nicely..
Good details where it counts, well done :wavey:
