The Quiet Light

I love what the sensors pick up at this time of day. Only 1 other photographer stayed with me to shoot this 30 minutes after sunset. The color in the sky had faded, and the reflected light from the sky and clouds to the west bathed this scene in even and calm light.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I agree. Waiting anxiously for the sensor to capture a scene not wholly visible to the naked eye it so amazing! It gives one the sense of discovery or something similar.

Nice cloud motion and vibrant color in the forest. Really like this...

A very nice fall scenic as usual, Morris. You described the light very well, even and calm and that is the feeling it evokes. A lot to love about this: composition, detail, color and layers. . Especially like the right side with the variety of colors. Well done!!!! Chet

I think I know the night you took this. I'm still kicking myself for not coming over here to shoot. I had gambled that the clouds that were hanging over the Beckwith peaks all day would stick around but they abandoned ship just before sunset to hang out over Ruby & Owen. I couldn't get back to this spot in time for the sunset. It was a beauty though.

Your image captures the mood of this light quite nicely. I like the soft appearance of the blurred clouds. Very nice, Morris.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me that I missed the famous red patch this year, when it sucked last year and that's when I was out there  Seriously, a good solid shot, Morris.

A truly inviting autumn view here, Morris. The groves in this scene appear to have a very healthy look to them. The even lighting has provided the ability for an excellent review of the detail in especially the larger image too. Very impressive capture.

Love the larger version especially Morris. My eye is really drawn to the repeating patterns of those trunks. Glad you stayed!

Love that light, and range of colors. Nice blur in the clouds too. This is beautiful! I also enjoy all the exposed white boles up front and around the scene.

The colors are awesome. I love the fact that you waited out the light..almost always worth it.. The small patch of rocks you left in the FG work very nicely to anchor the peak in the distant. Beautiful image.
