Bull Moose Relaxing

I happened upon this guy hanging out when traveling the logging roads here. He had no idea I was there. I even got several minutes of video of him with another young one and there was a whitetail deer that came through startling him. It was a fun morning, sighting 5 moose with three of them being bulls.

Nice exposure, you have detail in the moose which is good. I would crop alot off of the left side to bring the moose more into the image. Must have been an exciting time. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. That sure was a productive day. Good techs on this, but I agree with John on the crop. Good image.

Here is a repost with the suggested cropping. I happen to like habitat shots and don't feel like every animal needs to be in your face close. However, I thought I'd try the suggestions. Better?

Chris, I like your repost best of the two. IMHO it stills gives the viewer enough habitat which shows where the moose lives. Thanks for reposting.

I understand the suggestion about the crop, yet I actually like the the inclusion of more habitat. Ideally though there would have been more habitat on its right, but it looks like bushes were obstructing your view.

Christine, I prefer the original to the alternate crop, which feels too tight and blocky to me. I understand people's interest in wanting him facing into the frame rather than out of it, which makes me wonder how it would have looked (and what the surroundings looked like) if you had pointed the camera a little more to the right to place the bull in the left side of the frame.

Lon, Vincent was correct in guessing there was brush to the right of him. So I kept the comp where you see it. I should have looked more closely at what I was posting. In most of the shots, the bull had his head turned more to our left which would have been more pleasing. And I, too, prefer the original. I wanted to show his surroundings. Thank you all for your comments.
