Sunrise, Mt Hood Wilderness, January 2013.

This is another image from my sunrise snowshoe trip on Mt Hood last week. The sunrise light and glow were incredible that morning. I captured this image about 5 minutes before the first rays of light started touching the top of the mountain.

Nikon D800, Nikkor 14-24mm at 14mm, no filters
Pano crop from a singe exposure - gotta love the D800s resolution!
1/4 sec at f/11, ISO 100

I'm very interested to hear your thoughts on this one. I don't do many panos, but I felt this image was perfectly suited for a pano (9x4 crop).

All comments and suggestions are appreciated. Please check out the larger version.

The light and color on this are absolutely beautiful. I think the panoramic aspect ratio compliments the scene as well.

Nice light and exposure. I do wish there was a little more interest as far as the FG goes, but the ridges in the snow and the beautiful color in the sky help to pull the eye across the frame.

Sweet light indeed! The larger one is way better! Works well for me as a pano.

Gorgeous color and light trumps non-panoramic. Beautiful work Scott.

You got some really amazing light captured here, Scott. The pink is so amazing as it is reflected off the snow. Crop is cool to me as it leads very nicely from the layered ridges to the peak. No nits from me. Thanks for sharing!

Really like the colors. Comp is a little less compelling for me than the last one.

Scott, I am really enjoying the large version of this! Beautiful light and colors and the fine detail comes through so nice in the larger one. The panoramic format works great! :toast:

this is soooo much better than the other one IMHO. The r-l balance is cool, the slope is steeper, and the color more pure. :toast:
