Just happened to see this green bug going by where I was trying to get humming bird photos. Liked the way the shadow, the bug and the wood texture looked.

Great detail - lovely shot! Might this be a juvenile Marmorated Stink Bug?

It is interesting how size influences this one. The normal version looks crisp and sharp. The large version, a bit less so. You nailed the focus. The one antennae is bit out, but still looks sharp in the shadow. That's pretty neat.

This is one artificial background that works well. It provides a great way to emphasize the stark shadow for a striking composition. Good job retaining both highlight and shadow detail.

Nice combination of colors and textures in this image, John. I also like the way the bugs' position is horizontal and contrasts with the vertical lines of the wood. Good details on the bug and cool shadow!
