Another one from one of the approach shots of a Eagle that frequents a tree accross the river from my house here in Virginia. Taken last on 19 Jan 2013.
C&C welcome.

Canon 7D, 100-400L@360mm, 1/800sec, f/8, iso200, AP, eval metering, cropped away about 70% of image for this comp, tripod used.

Dave,

Great pose of this guy coming in. Love the wing position. It looks like the whites on the head are blown out. The undersides of the wings are also a bit dark. Perhaps you could bring out some more detail there. Nice capture. I wish I had these kinds of opportunities close to my house. Thanks for sharing

Nice action shot :jump: I also think you have blown out whites on the head, but you do have some detail in wings. thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments, the sun was high and to the right...expose for the whites you blow the shadows..expose for the shadows you blow the whites....anyone have any suggestions on how to compensate for this type of situation?

Very unique pose, and the square framing works well. Tough situation for proper exposure throughout as you mentioned. Seems that you found a good balance between the two opposite light situations. Don't know what you use for processing software, but Lightroom 3 and up has spot dodging and burning tools that might do the job. I imagine the scream was fairly loud! :toast:
