Rosie passed away yesterday around 6:30pm in my arms. I was feeding her every few hours with a mix of baby food & broth, along with the vets meds. Her last hour she got up, and I
helped her to the yard..She fell a couple of times from her weakness. She was trying to get the part of the yard were she pooped..But could not make it. I carried her back to her living room bed. A few minutes later she got up, and went towards the water bowl for a drink. She then relieved herself, and vomited. I picked her up & wrapped her in her blanket. I rocked her in our rocking chair and she seemed to be ok. Then she suddenly just arched her head, tightened up, and was gone.
I just buried her a couple of hours ago. This is how I will remember her as a pup, full of life. I'm certain all good dogs go to heaven. Looking forward to chasing her around again when I get there..

Howard, I'm so sorry for your loss.. pets touch our souls in a way nothing else ever could.
I know she had a wonderful life with you, and left in peace with your arms wrapped around her.
I'm also certain our pets go to Heaven...

Very, very sorry to hear that Howard. I lost a great dog a couple of years ago and it was a very tough loss. I feel for you. No doubt there is a doggie heaven and your Rosie is having a great time there now.

My sympathies to you, Howard, I know just how hard it is to lose a "member of the family" like our pets are to us. We lost our little Shi-Tzu last summer after 13 years. Tiny Joe Young will always be remembered for his bounding in the snow deeper than he was tall during a blizzard in our backyard. I was lucky enough to be holding him to let him know he was loved a lot when the vet sent him to "Doggy Heaven". I do hope he and several other pets I had in my life are there. It wouldn't be as special without them.

Your image shows just how full of energy she was as a puppy, no doubt.

My sympathies to you Howard. Rosie was so fortunate to have you with her to the very end. Pets give us so much and it sounds like you gave back just as much. I'm sure you have many wonderful photos of her.

Losing a treasured dog is about as heartbreaking as it gets. So sorry, Howard.

Thanx to all of you for your heartfelt sympathy, it helped a lot. I was very hard to see her go.
Especially since her illness and passing came so suddenly.
She fought the good fight, and will always have a very special place in my heart..

Thanks for sharing the story of your beloved Rosie. I think Peter said it best about being one of the most heartbreaking things to endure. All of my dogs live in my heart with the fondest memories. Hope so for you, too, after the worst of the grief passes.
