We had some big waves this weekend on the CA coast. High tide was just after sunset so the timing was nice. This was taken at Garrapata beach just north of Big Sur. Thanks for looking

Nice comp and light. Sense of scale is a little hard for me, but those do look like some big waves.

Jimmy, this is a beautiful image with the waves coming in at a diagonal and the muted colors. You got the exposure just right IMHO: the waves are a bit silky yet retain enough detail to convey the dynamic motion that was going on. The only tiny thing I might suggest changing is the bit of cloud (I guess it is) that resembles left-to-right "squiggles" in the upper left corner; they're a bit out of character with the rest of the image and thus tend to attract the eye. If there were a way of cloning them out -- I'm not at all suggesting cropping the image to remove them! Thank you for posting the lovely photo.

Very impressive waves. I agree about the clouds in the upper left corner being out of line with the rest of the sky.

This is beautiful! In reading other's comments, I actually think a cropping of the top of the images would be better. Just by cropping off the main blue sky makes the mood of the image stronger. Not all the blue, just the top.

Nice wave action Jimmy and wonderful color in the sky.

I just noticed telephone poles or something like that in the larger version, so after I post my comment I am going to move this to M&N. I hope you understand.

Nicely done, Jimmy. I was down there last Wednesday and there wasn't a ripple on the water, wind on Hurricane Point almost non existent, beautiful day, clear, warm but not good for photography.

Nice color and comp. I like how you stopped the wave action as they broke on the rocks.

Jimmy this is over the top! The mist * the waves crashing on the rocks * the colors in the sky * the mist hugging the shore * This is a magnificent image
