Autumn in Changqing

In October we spent a few weeks in Southwest China. In the Changqing Nature Reserve the autumn colors were amazing. I shot this image with a long lens, therefore it has become a bit hazy. I think it gives it a painterly affect, which I like a lot. What do you think of it?

Great comp. you could do a level adjust to bring up your blacks and remove some haze. :toast:

I like the soft muted colors and I think the haze adds some mystery.

very nice. I agree w/ Gary about cutting the haze back a bit. Right now, it looks like a photo of a painting....but, IMHO, cutting the haze will make the photograph stand out. :wavey:

I agree that he image has a painterly feel and I like that. also has many nice colors to view. I am not sure about the foreground as it seems lacking the same appeal as the rest of the photo. altogether though, nice job. Chet

Wonderful composition and layering of colors and textures. Painterly, indeed.

Very nice colors and comp Ellen. I like the soft feel the haze has created, but I think a slight increase in contrast might make this one even better.

Yes the misty soft tones work well here. Well compsed too. No doubt you could push the contast, but that would be a different image!

Ellen, this is an excvellent sensitive composition to my eye. I especially appreciate the subtle colors and delightful details in the larger version.
