You might remember Didl Glogers shot from this place which he posted a while ago. I didn't have that much time and it took me a while longer to get to the image processing.
The main differences between our two versions - this version was shot with a 90mm lens, compared to Didl who used his 150mm lens. I used a polarizer while Didl didn't. I also have only taken one exposure while Didl used a blending of two. All this together and the way we process images results in two quite different results. For me this always is very interesting. I hope you enjoy that comparison too.

Tachihara 4x5" Field Camera, Schneider-Kreuznach 90mm, Polarizer, Fuji Provia 100F, f/32, a few seconds exposure. Scanned with a Hasselblad X5 at 2400dpi.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. Take a look at the larger version for more details.

Wow! This is a very colorful photo. There must be a lot of minerals in the water to make that beautiful color. Great that it's on a 4X5 transparency.

Wonderful scene. The rock and leaf frame around the water is complex, but it works very nicely.

This is very nice Andreas. The water color immediately draws the viewer into the scene and then the details take over.

Love those sparkling glacial blues here and how each element in the scene draws the eye.

It's a great composition, everything guides the eye the way it should, from surrounding rocks to the motion of the water. The water itself has a very creamy look to it, which I really admire.

Both are remarkable images, and yours is just different enough. I particularly like the reds and the richer tones you got with the polarizer. Excellent work by both of you!

Finally we get to see your work from this trip! A very interesting comparison indeed. The composition, or angle of view, does not appear to be that different, just a bit more on the right and on the bottom. Yours has a warmer tone, I wonder whether the pol filter is having that effect, or if it were your color balance selections.
Anway, a remarkable shot from a unique spot.

I loved Didl's image, and yours is just as compelling, in a slightly different way Andreas. Very dynamic comp, and the contrasting colors are excellent. Gorgeous image!

Andreas, this is yet another wonderful look at this location now from your perspective. There are some similarities to the scene, but also some differences in the overall finished products too. No doubt the 90 to 150 perspective is there, although, not as radical as one would think. But then the angle of view is not horrendous between the two lenses either.
Probably the lighting and or processing seems to be brighter and slightly warmer. As Didi mentioned that can be in the polarizer usage and or the color balance too. However, there is seemingly a bit more light adding to this image IMO. Regardless, both are extremely wonderful images and it was good to see both with a bit of a different spin to each one.

This is great, Andreas. The fallen leaves add some very nice warmth and contrast to the cold turquoise water and there's so much movement coming in from the right and heading out the top.

Andreas,

This is wonderful! I really like the wider view. You've captured a wonderful array of colors and the flow of the water and balance with the rock and scattering of leaves is excellent.

If it were mine, I might selectively burn down the rock in the LL a little bit. Other than that I have no complaints, nits or suggestions. Oh wait, there is a tiny dust spec in the water in the secondary cascade, just about where the top third line is. I know it's not a spec on my monitor cause it scrolls with the image...
