A Mink's Hunting Ground

After seeing mink tracks along this stream in the woods, I was delighted to find them where the stream flowed through this open wetland. I have much better shots of the tracks, but not in such a picturesque setting.

Wayne - The processing on the snow is awesome. It couldn't get any better. In fact, the overall processing really adds mood and depth. The composition just leads you naturally into the scene. Who needs the mink tracks!?

I don't know whether this was the case, but my interpretation of this is that the mink was hunting in confined spaces beneath the snowbanks. Very interesting in that respect. This image is graceful and well-composed. I do miss the color.

With all the wonderful drifts and shadows, B&W processing works very well for this image. Great comp with the front tracks leading to the water and the angled stream which leads back into the woods. Really keeps ones' interest moving all through the image. Love the look of the barely visible creek. Well done, Wayne.

Gorgeous, Wayne. The variety of angles, wide dynamic range, and depth make this wonderful...sure wish I was there! I'd say that b&w is perfect here, no need for colors to distract from the shapes and textures.

Very picturesque, Wayne, and perfectly seen and captured. The shadows give a great sense of depth, while the water and tracks make this more than a simple snow scene.
