The title refers to the fact that this scene coincidentally appeared during a recent full moon, aligning the sun, earth and moon. In any case, this is one of my favorite local locations here along the Pacific Grove shoreline looking due north towards Santa Cruz, CA. I've been chasing a different comp of this formation for months/years, and thought that it might all come together on this morning, but alas, the shot in my mind continues to elude me. At one point, I took a step back and noticed this comp, then nervously waited for the head-high breakers to pound the other side of this formation, which in some cases was large enough to send water pouring over the top of the rocks. I always appreciate any honest critique or opinions, thanks for looking.

Honestly, it is a great shot; the lighting, the composition, everything is ok to me
Congrats

Lots to appreciate here Jared, including the surf dissipating over the rock formation and the excellent sunset colors. Very strong capture in all respects. Not bad considering it wasn't what you set out to capture.

Very unusual subject here, Jared....the focal point being a waterfall coming from nowhere! I like it. Nice handling of the subtle lighting and glow.

Pretty scene! Has about a .5-1 degree tilt on the horizon
I would have liked this better with more falls and less fg rocks, but overall its pretty nice.

The light hitting the water coming over the rocks is sick. Comp is a bit unbalanced to the right. Left side relatively empty. Might focus on just isolating the cool water. Right now the lines in the rock have the eyes going right to left...off the image and away from the interest. Very very cool spot though. And great light!

I like this one a lot Jared. The warm light on the foreground and in the sky gives this an inviting feel. I also like the texture in the water and the flow of the water over the middle-ground rocks as the waves crash in. This gives the image a very dynamic feel. Print it large and enjoy it!!

Looks great Jared! Simple, peaceful and great light. :toast:

I would consider correcting the light fall off on the upper left hand corner with a graduated adjustment in raw.

Gorgeous place. You really caught the water at it's peak moment. Excellent textures and light throughout.
