Thanks for all your comments on my previous image. Here's a sharper image of the same group just after sundown. I think the gull is a California gull. Look fwd to your thoughts on this version.

This is as good as your previous image Govind. I like the way you positioned the Gull at the upper corner looking down. Two thumbs up ! :toast:

Much more to my taste than the blurred predecessor. The gull (CA or ring-billed) makes a good visual anchor by being different from the sandpipers. I think they are mostly Dunlin judging by the curved bills; I also see a few smaller peep that are likely Least or Western Sandpipers.

Well titled photograph. I agree with Richard that the gull provides a strong visual reference point that creates a much more effective photograph than had it been just the pipers. Nice job

Thanks for the ID, Richard. For some reason, I thought they are too small for dunlins (I was going by size of the gull). Looks like I was mistaken.

Not so fast saying who is mistaken - I'm not sure either. I hope some others will chime in as well.

Another vote for this one! I enjoyed looking through the flock and the inclusion of the big gull with the little birds is nice. Sharon

Nice one, Govind. The Gull really adds a nice focal point. I'll have to try remembering that.
