Autumn Adagio

Last Dollar Road near Ridgway, Colorado. As the clouds moved in, the light was moving away and I had to rush to set up and catch it moving across this stand.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Large version included,

Beautiful comp! I like the way the orange trees are running up the hill! This looks a little more processed than some of your other images though...I am definitely not an expert so I don't know what it is that is bothering me...perhaps a tad too much luminance or contrast was added? Aside from that it is a lovely scene!

Morris this is nice! The light under the storm contrasts very well with the darker sky. I also like your composition. Another Colorado winner. Chet

Morris. Like the colour here, but not sure about the processing (burn?) on the top of the trees and edges...leaves a confused lighting feel.

Gary, that was shade from the clouds hitting those trees back left. And, they were darker, too. I might need to balance a little more.

I'm just trying to bring out everything that is there, Eirini. Hope it isn't too much.

Thanks.

This might be my favorite of this series,,,,,so far. The brilliant color against the threatening clouds tell the story that this display won't last much longer. The row of trees cresting the hill top is irresistible . Beautifully composed and processed!!! :toast: :toast: :toast:

I agree with the others--beautiful! The gray skies work so well with the aspen here. Not a critique, cause i think this is just fine as is, but i think a shot with near/far elements (a closer fg look at those cool grasses) might have been amazing. The processing looks fine to me, not sure what the others are seeing.

Beautiful shot, Morris, really enjoying that distant hillside and row of aspens. The dark clouds really add drama to the whole scene. Processing looks fine to me, doesn't look overprocessed at all.

Morris, beauty of a scene and quite a nice comp. The warmth here works well. I'm wondering what a crop from the right would do, eliminating the bare hillside..? Regardless, great work!

Morris, I am really drawn to the interplay of colors between the glow in the foliage and the dark grey in the sky. The foreground elements add a lot of interest for me, too.

Neat capture, Morris. The glow of the aspens against the stormy sky is really nice. I also like the sense that the aspen grove is engulfing the young evergreens, but know it's not true.
