Taken one evening last summer after a sunshower. The flower was in full sun. The BG is a shaded area of the shore of an island.

Nikon D200; 150mm macro; f4.5 @ 1/1250th; ISO 320; full frame; HH from kayak.

This is excellent, Tom. The iris is beautiful against the dark bg. Good job isolating the iris and with the exposure.This is especially good considering this was taken in natural setting handheld from a kayak.

Tom: Really nice job of isolating the flower against the BG. A little more DOF on the flower would suit me better but considering the probable movement you would have been fighting in the kayak I can see why you would want to maximize your SS. Nicely done.>=))>

The rain covered flower is gorgeous and it stands out so nicely against the black background. The arch of the stem is a nice touch as well.
