Cold Reflections w/re-post

One of the last sub-zero mornings I plan on experiencing this winter. Not without regret, though. It's hard to leave this mountain even for the adventure of a lifetime. Comments welcomed. Thanks for having a look

Unusual presentation. Ice???
Foreground might be out of focus. If so, crop?
Wonder if the snow hue could be made more white? Blue tint is the nemesis of snow and hard to avoid.

Nancy Lea,

The reflected light and color on the ice is wonderful! For me though, the upper 1/3 of the image takes a bit away from this being just about light and color. The very top sliver of sky is well, just a sliver. It's that situation where I either want more sky, or none at all. In fact I'd say you could probably crop a good half of the upper section and that would make for a stronger image; part of that is the big chunk of dark tree in the UL, which isn't adding or helping the image either.

Terrific light on the ice, it just falls down a little bit with the bg.

Here's a cropped version with the snow "whitened" best as I know how. Thanks guys, it is much stronger this way

I like the re-post. The color and reflections in the water work very well. It looks cold!

Nancy, the reflections and it colors are very appealing and wonderful. I'm not quiet sure about the upper part of the image. The upper part is a distraction for me and takes a lot from this image away. So for that reason I'd prefer the second version.I would even consider cropping a bit more and really turn this into an abstract image.

I like Bill's idea for an abstract, may be a 4x5 with the golden reflections, I think it would really work well.

Excellent reflected colors. I agree with a crop to emphasize them even more. Good eye to see and capture this.

Nancy, I think the ice and reflections look really nice here. The upper half of the image doesn't really add anything to this image for me. So I agree with the crop suggestions and like taking it all the way untill all you have is ice and reflections. That looks pretty cool to me....

The cropped version is real nice--a bit soft up front. I would recommend either focus stacking or hyperfocus with a small aperture next time. Looks good though...
