Ball of Feathers
by Roger Kirchen
Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) from the archives and reprocessed. It's puffed up to insulate against the cold and is probably one of the most round Chickadees I have seen. You know it's cold when frost forms on your whiskers. Trees and snow as BG.
7D, Sigma 150-500 at 500 mm, f/8.0, ISO 400, 1/320 sec, HH, natural light, PP in LR4. Cropped to 60 % of original.
All your comments are much appreciated. Thanks for your comments on my other photos. Roger.

8 commentsThe large image is a tiny bit soft, so some added sharpening (or better yet, viveza's structure) would improve this fine image further.
