This Red-winged blackbird is perched on some old cattails. This was taken on a small pond outside my building where I work (constructed to hold water for our fire-sprinkler system). Really nice habitat for wildlife, I'd always go out after lunch and sit by the edge to relax. During the summer lots of frogs, dragonflies, birds and muskrat. Then for some unkown reason around the first of September they had all the cattails cut down. I was very disappointed.
