Another shot of a bumblebee hard at wotk, this time a face shot. They are hard for me to catch when they are on the move..just wish I was able to get the head sharper..

Canon 7D, EF70-200@125mm, 1/2500sec, f/7.1, iso400, AP, partial metering, handheld, cropped away 80% of image for this composition.

There hard for me to catch in flight as well, David. Good job catching this one face on. Nice and sharp. I like the cropped comp as well. Amazing how much pollen the bee is covered with.

I like the POV a lot David, good job on exposing all that white as well..
If you have a fair amount of bee traffic & time? One approach I've used is to set up with tripod near the flower, and manually focus to it.
If you can find a flower with a lighter BG all the better. As much ISO/DOF as you can bear using burst mode.
It takes repeated attempts and some luck of course, but if you've set up tight enough you'll eliminate that 80% crop.

Thanks Howard, I spent more time chasing them around..like a kid in a candy store. Not alot of bees around on this day, I will keep in mind your suggestion...thanks for the input!!
