Too close? Would crouching make it easier?
Another shot from Wednesday.
The sesion reminded me of the film Field of Dreams, "you build it, he they will come"
You lie in the mud long enough RKDs will come - initially inquisitive and then totally ignoring you. I had four hours and they often came too close to frame.

cheers

Enjoying the commentary as well as the shots! First John Cleese, and now Field of Dreams!! This is great, I too really like the low angle shot. Terrific job on a tough exposure.

Terrific! Not too close - every portfolio benefits from some variety including tight framing such as this.

When I was primarily a birder in NJ my experience of shorebirds was mostly with a 20x or 30x spotting scope as it seemed impossible to ever get close. When I moved to AZ and bird photography took up a bigger portion of my time I was amazed at how close the dowitchers and Least Sandpipers would come if I simply sat down in thre open on the edge of the pond.

Very cool, Rob. I'd much rather lie than crouch for four hours. Beautiful light and detail.
