Loch Achray, Trossachs NP, Scotland.

I took this back in February 2012. I went up to Edinburgh with my wife for a few days and managed to get a day out in the Trossachs NP to get a few photo's.

I'm quite happy with this but would love to hear your feedback, good or bad.

Thanks for looking and a very Happy New Year to all.

Cheers, Gary.

It's a gloomy image, but that's a good mood here. The overall bluish and dark tones support that. I like it.
FYI - I checked the larger version, and it's smaller than the one posted here. You might want to recheck what resolution you used there.

Thanks Michael,

Not sure what you are seeing in the larger version, when I click it I get the 1000px version. Hopefully someone else will chip in.

Cheers, Gary.

Gary, your image conveys an immediate feel of "blue hour" to me. I especially appreciate the kind of rhythm made by the trees an the background shapes as well.

I really like this photo. Mood, mystery and beautiful soft color make this a pleasurable, peaceful, scene. Well done!!! Oh, I am getting the larger version. Chet

I'd be quite happy with this too. It looks great. The fog does a great job of isolating the elements creating some layering. And how fortunate the island had three nicely isolated trees to give it even more focal appeal. Very nice image all around.

Gary,

Serene. That's what comes to mind. Quiet and reflective (figuratively too.) Beautiful.

btw, I'm seeing the larger version. Not sure what Michael is seeing.

A magical image with great mood. I love the receding layers of fog with just glimpses of the background hills and trees. And, the almost symmetrical comp. :toast:

Very nice mood. I like that you were able to maintain some detail in the trees amongst a foggy scene. The reflection is nice as well.

It is a contemplative photo Gary, in that it makes me stop and think. I like photos like that.

Beautiful and wonderfully moody image Gary. I love these kind of conditions and you did a great job capturing them. I really like this comp and the 3 bigger trees on the island really add to it. Wonderful layers and reflection! :toast:
