This is an image I captured in the rain forest of Costa Rica almost three years ago. It is one of the first images I posted as a new member to NPR but for some reason this never made it to My Photos folder-so I ask your indulgence as I post it for that purpose.

This was shot from a gondola in the Braulio Carillo National Park in a deluge of rain-I was soaked, but as you can see the bird was hardly concerned by the weather.

Thanks for looking...again, and Happy New Year!

Nice Chuck. I never saw this, so it is new to me. A very cool looking raptor. Nice work in tough conditions.

I don't recall this one either so I'm glad you posted it. That's got to be a tough place to shoot and the conditions you describe sound difficult. The results are very good given that and the short optics and hand holding. If I'd been here I'd have set the ISO to 800 to keep the shutter speed higher but you definitely didn't suffer from your settings used.

I'm a bit jealous of this shot as I have only seen them from a distance, a good shot of a subject rarely photographed in the open. :toast:
