Hooded Plover photographed at Tabourie Lake, NSW. Theese birds frequent ocean beaches of southern Australia.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4x, handheld from kayak, ISO 400, F/7.1, 1/2500, cropped for composition and to correct tilt.

what a cool looking plover, Simon--I've never seen this species before. love the low angle. nice raised leg and setting too. handholding in a kayak sounds challenging!

Very well done from the kayak Simon! I had the chance to visit Tasmania about 15 years ago and remember the plovers were very vocal
