Hiking along a trout stream I came across this section where the colors were really great.

Canon 50D, 70-200 F4, ISO 100, f16@1/15 sec.

I agree with you that the colors are very nice. I like that my eye can follow the angle of color into the image. I do find the upper part a little distracting. Over all I think you have conveyed a nice wintry feeling. Chet

Wayne,

What a wonderful scene - quite a bit of abstractness to this. Although the blue is a little more purple for my taste, I think the colors are wonderful and fitting for this little scene. I love the texture of the rippled surface of the water. I'm with Chet though, I find the upper part, well, not necessarily distracting, but for me it takes away from the abstract qualities this has. I think some degree of cropping beyond eliminating the far shore could make this a stronger image. But as presented, It's still well seen and I'm really enjoying the lower 3/4, the water surface, colors, wonderful.

A unique blend of coloring, but I like it. Though it really isn't my cup of tea - the abstract and uniquness brings it a little more to light. But, like Lon stated, te blue is a little purple for my taste. I also agree that the upper portion of the frame takes away from the scene. But, here is my philosphy. It is better to have taken the image with the faults than not to take it all.
