The Great Yosemite

Ansel Adams opened my eyes to Landscapes in general and to Landscapes' photography in particular. Through his Black and White photos I saw the Beauty of our Earth. So few years back when I started doing more Landscape, I always visualized the nature in Black and White. Colors distracted me from the beauty of the Masses. The Masses of the Rocks, Earth, Water, Clouds, Sky, Trees etc.
The colors in that day were spectacular, but seeing this photo in B&W changes the way you look at this amazing Landscape.

Ansel was a perfectionist, with great attention to detail and light. That's what's missing here. The light is ok, but not great. The odd halo around the cliff on the left distracts me. Did you try a red channel conversion here (or red filter, or whatever...) that's Ansel's 'trademark' so i would think you might want to give it a go here  Sorry for being so harsh with the critique (bah humbug...) It's a good shot, just think it's a good learning op too. :wavey:

This is classic. I agree with Stan that the halo on the left is distracting but I really do enjoy the rest of this. Nice job

Thanks for the comments. I will work on the halo and hope will be able to get rid of it. Thanks again.

Hi Stan, I added the red filter. I could not get rid from the halo totally, but reduced it considerably. Though, I lost details in the shadow area in the middle.
I agree with you that now it looks better.
Thanks for the advice,

Another classic scene and rendered in the old master's way.

Raied, the sky looks better but you need to retain the fg detail. Send me a color tif (reduced size) by email and i would be happy to work it up for you, you can decide for yourself if that's the way to go.
