Person: My mom

This afternoon I asked my mom if she would allow me to take her picture to post here on NPN. She reluctantly agreed, and after 10 minutes adjusting her appearance and applying make-up in the bathroom mirror, I took the following picture.

Going on 92 as of today, she is the basis of my interest in photography, having exposed our family to it from my birth. This Christmas, she gave me the camera she used to take slide images while I was growning up, several of which she won local contests for; a Voightlander Vitomatic II. I've already ordered four rolls of Fuji film and figured out a way to digitize the images with 16 mp resolution. We'll see what happens.

K-5, f/5.6, 1/15s SR hand held, ISO 800, Tamron 17-50 mm at 50 mm.

Beautiful woman and the smile is touching. Visiting with my 90 year old younger Mom this holiday, all the memories of past Christmases race through my head.

Merry Christmas to all

Lovely image John. You do your mother proud. My mother is 90, and although in good health, suffers from dementia, and now resides in a nursing home. She can't remember much, but she remembers her son!
