Rivers

Mellon Udrigle Beach, Laide, Scotland

Another beach abstract. The undulating shapes of the sand etchings made me think of an aerial view of rivers leading to the ocean though I was only standing several feet above this scene.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L
ISO100 1/40sec f/11

Thanks for having look.

Wishing everyone all the best for the Holiday Season! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This is very nice. The subdued tones and delicate tracings work together very well. The foreground is like a silken banner moving in the wind. Beautiful arrangement. Super!!!

Yet another fascinating study of line and texture. I could easily envision this, as well as the others from this series in a wonderful book.

Many thanks Youssef, Ben, and Ian. BTW Ian, I can see why this is a favorite beach of yours. Thanks for taking me there on the 1:2:1. Fabulous place for grand landscapes and abstracts as well. Amazing place overall.

This looks terrific Eva, really great abstract. I could look at this for ages getting lost in all the wonderful lines and swirls and curves.

Merry Christmas, Gary.

Nicely seen and captured, Eva! It has me thinking of a minimalist landscape painting with the ridges fading into the distance..

Wonderful composition Eve, I like the diagonal orientation you chose. My favorite images, like this one, are ones where you can move all around the image and even after looking at it for a few minutes you still find interesting things to see. Great job! :toast:

Eva,

Outstanding! This is just fantastic! "Etchings" is a great description - I'd go one further and mention a lithograph. Very, very cool.

One of my new favorites of yours. Love this one.

I like this image. It contains a themes that occur elsewhere in nature; large and small.

These are a lot of fun, Eva. Just love the natural shapes that Nature produces. Personally, I think I like the left side best. The abstractness of it reminds me of sandstone.

Very nice indeed, Eva. Although not perfect; lacking the 6x7 treatment with V-50.... ......Truthfully, a wonderful capture & the title fits the image as well.
I like the idea of using the diagonal "flow" to the etched rivers in the sand too, seems like it works very well from this perspective.
