Thanks to you all for your comments, feedbacks and suggestions on my previous post "Nebelwald". I appreciate it.
Lon Overacker suggested a black & white version and a slightly crop from the right side.
Well, here it is and i must say i really like it. It's not exactly what I was going after, but I was too focused on my idead that I forgot other options on this image.

this is a beautifully done B&W, Bill. The atmoshere created with the light fog is sublime and the verticals of the trees compliment the horizontal format rather nicely. Awesome image! :toast:

Awesome image. Tough to get the spacing right in situations like this, but you pulled it off. Another thing I like about this is the feeling of depth.

Lon's radar for seeing what an image needs for maximum impact is quite impressive. I like the other one a lot, but I must say that this one is an improvement for me. The little tweaks help to communicate the essential strengths of this image which is mood, depth and repeating patterns. Very good work Bill !

This made a wonderful B/W, Bill. I liked your other version but think I like this one even more!.. The crop worked great and your conversion is beautiful! Nice work on this Bill.

This image is also stunning although I prefer the colored version for its mystical mood. Both are like fairy tale illustrations and I'm finding them irresistible.

A wonderful and convincing composition for me, Bill. I first enjoy the tangible details in the bark of the foreground trunk and then follow the other ones vanishing in the depth. Great capture of the atmosphere to me.

This definitely works well in black and white. It's still the composition that I like. The foreground tree grabs my eye and then is repeated into the depths of the image.

Lovely shot a really nice bar code display of trees with a hint of recessionary mist.

I really love this. The b+w conversion is very nice. The tones of the fog, trees, and trunks are just awesome!

Fantastic photo Bill. It has great mystery. I think it is better than the color version.

Very cool, appears as an etching to me. The fog creates such a nice soft background.

I'm really drawn to the strong, almost graphic lines of this image. I like the major vertical lines in combination with the light horizontal lines created by the limbs. I'm torn about the foreground tree, I like it for the texture and detail on the trunk, but almost wish it wasn't there to maintain the more graphic nature of the image as a whole. Either way it's a real fine image.

POW! That's what I'm talkin' about! I think, at least in my opinion, that the color was actually getting in the way of the mood - if that makes sense. Here, the b&w presentation boils this down to the basics; simple and beautiful. For me anyway, the color version was too much, went beyond real, where as the b&w (even though b&w isn't what we "see" either,) this just has a natural, mystical look and mood to it. I LOVE this and thanks for posting this version.

This also works for me, but I must say I like the color version better. Either will make a nice print!

This works well too. Both color and B&W have a very nice graphic quality to them.

A truly hypnotic image, Bill. I really like the brighter negative spaces. Didn't have a chance to see the color version till a few moments ago, but I this version more. I feel it creates a better mood. :toast:

Like a scene taking straight out of one of those Roman movies like Gladiator. It is drama filled - it uses great lines - going vertical. The crop and black and white was a great recommendation.
