Big Blue Wilderness

by Morris McClung

Gallery: LandscapePosted December 20, 2012320 views13 comments
Another fall image from Colorado this years. This is literally called the Big Blue Wilderness and is part of the San Juans. I wish I was younger, and more skilled in the wilderness as I would love to explore this area.

C&C welcome, and thanks for looking,

Large Version Included,

Morris

The larger version is impressive. I love the layers and the various colors in all the layers are very nice. The light is sweet. The fog is a nice bonus.

Morris, I agree with all Nick mentioned in his comment. This is very nice and I too really enjoyed seeing the larger version.

I like the lighting in this image, Morris, especially nice where it touches the different peaks. I like the different bursts of gold scattered through the image. Nice job!!!

Beautiful scene, nicely captured. The layers of gold and green are a nice touch. Those peaks do look alluring.

Morris,

Beautiful! For me, I find the light on the peaks and the color in the sky/clouds (pink and blue) to be very striking here. the scattering of fall color is great too, but it's the mountains that steal the show for me. I think I could do without the willow/brush at the bottom, but the color certainly works to create a nice foundation for this beautiful landscape.

A good find and well composed, Morris. The colors are great, and I like the mountain formations.
Fortunately, you also had a beautiful sky.

Beautiful Morris, excellent light and color, really like the way the peaks stand out against that pretty sky. Very well done.

What a beautiful scene! Very sharp and crisp with rich colors and atmospherics make a great image.

I was writing a nice comment about how much I like this shot and then my internet went out for a day. So now I blame your image!

This is sweet, Morris. Wonderful light and color in the sky and on the peaks and I also like the contrasting green and gold. I bet this would look sweet printed large.

Very nice scene, Morris. I particularly like the amount of color and texture in the sky. Goes well with the textures in the trees and foreground.
