Winter drab is mesmerizing and somehow sad, but beautiful. This image bring it home for me and I recognize there is noise and decided to leave it. But I learn so much knowing how others feel. Please tell me.

Charlie,

I love this! It took me a couple of views, but now I see it - it's 3-D! The ice/snow-covered seeds (or whatever it is) literally is popping off the screen. I think the reason for the 3D effect is that the second reed appears to be the shadow of the reed on top AND the underneath portion without the snow appears to be a shadow of the top part. Very, very cool. I'm loving this more and more with each passing view. There is also an excellent graphic nature to this with the bent reeds/cattails.

Noise isn't an issue for me, not even in the larger version.

The only suggestion I have would be a slight crop off the top to reduce the heaviness of the dark patches. Also, you might consider cloning out he whitish part of the reed in the LLC, But both are minor. This is wonderful.

Very nice image. I like the repeating lines and shallow dof, and don't think noise is an issue.

Fascinating study of shapes. I think this is an excellent capture and the relationship of the various reeds to each other keeps me so focused I hardly notice the noise. Very nicely done

This makes me think OUCH with that pointed reed covered in ice. The repeated reed shapes are great. I agree that cropping the darkest part at the top would help maintain focus on the reeds.
