love that leaf and feather! excellent detail, pose, and eye contact . Great low POV .
I'd wish a little mor room behind and in front, so the bird is not exactly centered.

I like the close up composition of the bird showing it's feather detail but myself I find the leaf a bit distracting. I think I might be tempted to add a bit more foreground and less sky as I think this is partly where the interest lies with the light showing up it's relief nature. Nice image though. graham

Nice pose and good selective focus. You have a catchlight and excellent head turn. To my eye the bird seems oversharpened, particularly in the head area, but the feathers seem a little bit crispy as well. Maybe a bit tight in the frame for my taste as well Tom. Shorebirds are tough in my opinion, you have a nice low pov and over all a good image.

I really like the feather (or it might be a seed), and leaf echoes the colors on the bird's wings, but I think the current position of the leaf at the photograph's edge makes it a distraction. Less of a crop to move the leaf away from the edge could preserve your three main objects (bird/feather/leaf) and give you the flexibility for a stronger composition

Nice low angle, very nice dof, pose and head turn. I also like the other elements in the image. I wish for a little more space all around, but mostly in the bottom.

A little more space bottom and right for me, on the bottom enough for the virtual feet plus a little more. Basically a fine portrait, and I love the low POV.

Very nice, great pose and lose angle. I too find the leaf distracting, but like the little feather fluff.

Wonderful overall composition, detail and low perspective. I like the image as posted and would not change a thing, nice job in getting this difficult shot, way to go.

I like both the leaf and the feather and the bird looks good to me. Ideally I'd like a bit more room at bottom but given what I see at the frame edge I suspect it becomes very OOF down there and that you made the best choice. Interesting image, Tom.

Beautiful subject in nice light. In my opinion the strong color and graphic shape of the leaf competes for attention with your wonderful subject.
