Red-bellied woodpecker

This is an image of one of my resident red-bellied woodpeckers. When the red-bellied's arrive all other birds vacate the feeding station. If they dare try to get a seed from the feeder the red-bellied will gladly relieve them of some of their feathers.

Nice, Wayne. I love these guys.Interesting light and a great perch/tree. A few bright spots in the BG are a little distracting, but well exposed and sharp.

Nice pose and eye contact from this WP. I like the detail in the tree trunk a lot. I agree to dampen the BG bright spots a bit.

Wayne, you are having a great time in your backyard :). I like the light on the bird, but agree that a couple of background spots could be slightly darker.

I like the overall composition and the shadow/light contrast really adds to the image for me, well done.

I like the "spotlight" on its face. The red really pops, and you've got some nice complimentary colors surrounding it. My only issue is the placement of the bird in the center of the frame. I think you have some leeway to crop a bit off the left and still be okay.

I love the light. Highlight and shadows look very nice. BG looks fine to me. I might take a bit more off on the left.

Wayne, I like the mottled light on bird and perch and I'm fine with the background as posted. I too would take some off the left. Nicely done.
