The vignetting really helps this image, as it focuses the eye exactly where you want it. Since it's mostly patterns, the b&w is a good choice.

This is all about light and shadow, texture and patterns. Makes me want to reach out and touch it. Great choice for b&w.

B&W does a great job of simplifying the elements and the vignette takes it one step further. Very nice study of textures and contrast.

Great choice for b+w conversion. I agree that the vignette works well.

This is very nice Bill. The b/w conversion looks great and really brings out some wonderful textures! The dark vignette also adds a nice look and a bit of drama here.

The vignetting really is the key component to this capture, Bill. The whole capture and processing leads us into a peering in on the scene atmosphere. Very well thought out and presented overall. Even the fallen tree adds to that narrowing of the view towards the fronds or leaves.

The vignetting is very effective here, Bill, and, together with the B+W treatment brings out the shapes and textures so defining of this scene. Something for me to keep in mind!

I guess I'm one dissenting voice as I feel the vignette is just a little too strong. I like the idea of using one to bring focus to the central elements, but it just feels a little abrupt to me. I like the conversion a lot with the great silver tones, and your comp is excellent in isolating the subjects that pulled you into the scene.

Bill,

Excellent job with the processing and using the vignette to highlight this lovely, intimate scene. I think the b&w does an excellent job too of cutting in to the chaos, simplifying the scene. No nits really, well done.
