This adult female was hunting ducks along the shore of the Great Salt Lake and would occasionally land on rocks to scan the water and rest. This shot was taken just prior to take-off. Background is the lake.

7D, 1/3200, f/8, ISO 500, 500 f/4,(techs set for possible take-off) shot from pickup window on 11/27/12, cropped to 70% of original image, sharpened bird and perch, no additional processing or adjustments, natural light, no bait, no decoy, not set up or called in

Ron, a terrific image - tack-sharp, great eye contact, pleasing wing position and clean BG.
I won't mention the bird poop...

Really nie semi-action shot. I like the perch and solid BG with the hesitant look in the bird

You caught the moment just right, and it wouldn't look natural without the bird poop!

Excellent shot. I really like the wing position and the raised leg as the bird prepares to take-off.

Beautiful look at a very pretty falcon. I like the dark grey/blue background color. The open wings are a real bonus. No complaints here. :toast: :toast:
