I shot this while walking alone in one of the meadows of Yosemite Valley one morning in early November. The other guys were in El Capitan Meadow, I think. This is Liedig Meadow. Large version included, I hope you enjoy it.

D800,
24-70mm,
1/3sec, F/11,
3stop soft grad,

Thanks,
Chris

Very nice image. I like the light, composition and the light fog over the brown grass. Also the hint of fall colors in the trees. I need to go back in the late fall. We were there last September and there were just to many people.

Beautiful. The light hitting the mountain and the fog across the grass really makes for a pleasant scene. The touch of fall color also adds a wonderful touch. This is a beautiful place and a beautiful image!

Nice image with a fine mood to it. I brought it into PS and did a B&W conversion and think I prefer it converted. Just a thought anyway.

A wonderful image Chris! It looks calm and tranquil, and at the same time there is a lot going on actually. The light on the left, the sky and the fog is a pretty cool combo and creates quite a dynamic composition. On top, this looks painterly. Very beautiful work man!

Really pretty scene Chris, love the touch of light on the peak, ground fog and grasses, you did a beautiful job with this. By the way, really appreciate you getting back to me with the information. Take care.

I like the kiss of light on the rocks, the mist, and the grand scene that this is. Very well done.

Nice composition, I can see how carefully you placed the trees within the granite backdrop. The texture of the grasses, mist and touch of fall color round out a lovely scene.

Beautiful Chris. It's funny, the mountains are wonderful, of course, but the grass is the main attraction for me, especially with the mist hanging over it.

Chris,

The very first thing that strikes me aside from being a beautiful landscape image of the valley, is that all the time I spent in this meadow, I don't recall ever having noticed Half Dome! In fact I had to think for a second, was Half Dome even visible from that meadow?? Of course it is, I just never looked up I guess.

So with that, kudos for looking up! As I said, a wonderful image from and of Leidig Meadow.

Small nit/observation. Is there a slight halo between the pine covered ridge and the lower face of Half Dome? Not overly prominent, but if a halo from lightening that ridge, you might want to work that a little bit. I know you've asked previously how best to do that, unfortunately I don't have a good answer for ya. Not a huge deal, but something I noticed.

Oh, like Bill, I love the grasses here and that layer of fog is how I remember the meadow early in the morning.

Looks like a beautiful time to be in the valley and I like all that brown grass in the foreground. Very nice scene.

This is classic Chris. Everything is in perfect balance, the comp, light and contrast. And the mood is very peaceful.

Very nice work with the soft-grad here, Chris. Not an easy exposure for this site and TOD.
