First post
by Fred Laberge
Hi all,
I am new to NPN, just joined after lurking the site for about a year. From the work I've seen, I have much more to learn than to offer, but in the spirit of joining in, here is my first post:
Bald eagle photo taken on Farmington River in Connecticut in late September. Eagles are becoming more common in the state, but still rare enough that I stopped for this photo, especially since he stayed perched in this classic pose long enough for me to get a few shots.
Nikon D7000
70-300mm Nikon ED-IF lens
taken at 300mm, 1/400s, f5.6 handheld.
Cropped a bit since eagle was about 225 yards away. No other enhancements since light was flat, with light cloud cover.
Comments/critiques welcome.

This jpg loaded with no issues for me - Safari on a Mac.
This definitely needs to be larger for proper evaluation and meaningful feedback - its only 320 pixels on the longest side instead of the permitted 720.
Also, I'd guess that the crop is a lot more than "a bit" if this was shot at 300mm from 225 yards. Visit my web site and click on the "Calculating crop percentages" topic.
