Bill,

Fascinating and a mystery! Gotta be a reflection, and these aren't stars at night, then it must be sparkles in the water, or a sandy bottom, something. But it doesn't matter, this came out very well and I have no doubt the print would tell a better story.

The clouds are very effective as well. Would love to hear the rest of the story.... but I can wait.

This is great. I don't know if the stars are a earth born or the result of very deep, dark water reflections but it's fascinating. Quite the mindbender.

Well, I guess sometimes a dirty lens filter can work

thanks folks, I'll let ya' know soon. this is one of those that looks like nothing on face value, but in print, and large, it's a photo a consider one of my best (which may not be saying much, lol).

Well thanks everyone who clicked! Since there are only 26 hits on this, I appreciate the comments from those who did view it. Lon, of course, has it basically down. Figures!

It's of course a reflection of a tree in a slowly flowing inlet to a lake. There was some kind of white material, like flower petals but not, in the water. I shot it in midday with the obvious cloud cover also reflected, making the white material look like stars in the nighttime sky. When I got back to the computer, I simply converted to B&W... cropped a bit so that some of the real shoreline is anchoring the tree, and flipped it 180. I titled it originally "Starry, Starry Day"... in honor of Van Gogh thru the great song "Vincent". So that's it, wish the thumbnail looked more interesting!!!! :frown:
