This is a frequent grazing spot for the local deer. I made sure i had plenty of orange on , and set out to capture the beautiful colors that blend here at first light.

Justin,
I can see why this might be great deer habit! Great "light habitat" too! (hey, just coined a new phrase.)
While the streak of light through the center is a little hard (not in a bad way really) I think you've captured the exact look and feel of that early morning light; and this could be any place and be recognized for the kind of light - if that makes sense. The light glow on the grasses up front is lovely, and there is enough first light striking the rest of the landscape to keep me engaged.
Hard to tell with this small view, or whether or not there's some compression or depth thing going on, but I'm almost wishing this was sharp front to back. Not a huge deal though as this is still quite a lovely and enjoyable image.

This is quiet a lovely scene and I love the comp and the light and your comp idea. As Lon mentioned, I wish it were sharp from front to back....but this might be a compression issue.

Justin, I do like the interplay of light and shadow as well as the beautiful autumn colors working together in your image. It gives me a natural and immediate impression of this scene.

Thank you for the comments.
Lon/Bill- This should have been sharp front to back, as i used f/36. I at first thought this was a compression issue, but looking back at the original file, i just used the wrong hyperfocal

Hard to tell from the image size, but I wish for more DOF. I like the light, color and composition.

Nice light and color. You'll remember the hyperfocal the next time, I'm sure. We all forget some settings from time to time.
