This RBA bird has been at Chiriaco Summit in California for a few weeks now and I took the opportunity during my week's getaway from the rains of Vancouver to see this "Lifer". I was forewarned about it being tail-less, which I suspect may be the work of a couple of cats (a ginger and a black) soon after its arrival. And, it was these two felines that made it hop up to this trimmed young tree that late afternoon I was there a fortnight ago.
The cats have not been able to get it (thankfully!) and I understand it has grown most of its tail back again already. Incidentally, they are encouraging photos of this bird to be taken there.
Thanks for looking.

5 commentspersonally, I don't know what it is with these thick black frames on NPN, but I'm learning to ignore them. In my view, this would be so much more better with a thin black stroke, almost invisible unless sought out by the experienced eye.
Bottom line; nice image; better with the complete tail feathers.
