The open prairie looking north from Buffalo Creek Wildlife Management Area. The sun is just breaking the horizon. Two image combined for exposure. A beautiful morning. I welcome all comments and critiques.

Lovely light and sky. It is hard to show the vastness in the smaller image. Looking at the large image gives a better feel, and I suspect one would have to look at this really large to give it the respect it deserves.

Richard,

Great image. This really does a good job in capturing the vast landscape. The beautiful light adds a warmth to the landscape.

Only minor wish - I wish there was a tad more real estate beneath the bottom tuft of grass. Not an image killer, just a thought.

Lovely image, captures the sense of location beautifully.

Love the rich warm light on the grass. There's a lot of empty space in this image but that actually works for me. I'm fond of empty lands and great distances. The way the clumps of grass lead out into the prairie helps add to the feel of vastness.

Great image, Richard. Really gives a good feeling of the vastness of this kind of landscape. Maybe what the early pioneers saw: Grass for mile upon mile. You captured some really great light. Love what it does to the grass aand the sky adds some interest as well.

Beautiful landscape, Richard! The sky looks a bit polarized (?) but other than that it looks great.

A beautiful scene, Richard. The late light sweeping the grass tops and the addition of the distant ridge give this great depth. A hair more room under the fg frass would push this over the top for me but it is really nice as presented.

Beautiful warm morning light! I like the vast open space this portrays as well. Agree about the darkness/polarized sky?

The ulc looks a bit strange on my monitor, but this has excellent warm light and colors and it does give a very nice sense of the expanse of the prarie.
