Hundreds of birds dropped in at the Oasis Information Center, Everglades, the other day. This one took off with its prize - a small catfish, as a tourist went about snapping shots at everything that moved.

Good shot to show clearly that he has a catfish. Excellent clarity and dof. You really show how beautiful a bird it was.

Wayne,
Great shot of this Egret, the whites, well, I wish I could handle them as good as you have here and the detail is excellent. I am not so keen on the BG or the “American Bald Tourist” you also captured, but what can you do.
Your Egret has caught a Walking Catfish (Clarias batrachus) which is an invasive species first discovered in the Everglades in the late 1960’s and is from (I believe) Thailand.

This is a shockingly wonderful "capture the moment" moment: I had to laugh on several levels, the most fundamental one being how much I feel I am that tourist mostly!

But every once in a while, when the stars are aligned just so, as in the case of your image, something magic happens.

This is one of those images I'll always remember. Thanks so much for sharing it.
