Anemone Ballet

An anemone that seemed to me to be in a dance pose !

Canon 400D, 100mm Macro lens, 1/4 sec @ f9, 1ev, tripod, Helicon stack, window light.

Strong composition Ian. The stack looks very crisp to me. I like the bg gradient and the airy mood of the image. My only possible reservation is that I'm not getting a sense of depth in the image - maybe because of very little shadow in the exposure. That's not a real problem for me, just a little unusual for what I'm used to seeing in your work.

Ian - Wonderfully well done. The curve makes for an excellent composition - the dance pose analogy seems perfect.

Pat : thanks so much for the, as ever, thoughtful comment(s) - so nice to have you around again. This flower suggested something more linear to me, and I'm interested to see how people feel about it.

PS Tried emailing you, but NPN seem to have a disused address. Hope you've been keeping well.

What a beauty Ian! All warm colors against the almost blue sky. I love the background fathering in the gray thus enhancing the original design of the flower.
The movement is great. Splendid photo.
Take care.

Ian,

I've changed the email address in my registration info. Thought I'd done that when I changed it originally. In any event it's eipi10@gmx.com.

Take care.

Beautiful, Ian. I like the colors overall, including the gradient bg. I also like the light and the detail throughout the subject. Expertly and artistically done, IMO. :toast:

Ian:
Splendid image! Like the balance in the composition: red flower anchored by green leave with a nice curve in between and wonderful gradient bg from blue to white :toast:

It does look like it's dancing, Ian, and the bright background adds nicely to that feeling.
