The blooms on this dogwood were perfectly lit...so enticing i had to stop and take a look. This one early bloom caught the perfect light at the perfect time.

Excellent subject isolation justin. I might be tempted to crop a little tighter, maybe from the left but I also like the mood of this and the pattern of the bg - so not sure. I like the image as posted.

Splendid lighting, Justin - love the shadows in the background and the overall tonality of the image. Like Pat, I might be tempted to crop just a little, but this is a delightful image as is.

Well conceived, captured, and presented. I love the rich brown, almost leather-looking background.

Justin:
Nicely captured. Without reading what Pat and Ian said, I also thought of cropping along the left to put more emphasis on the dogwood.

Justin: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a fine first post. Besides framing this a bit tighter (perhaps 5:4 ratio) I would also burn down the leaf/bud on the left to about the same intensity as the one on the right. Your capture of the bloom itself is excellent. Great to have youaboard and looking forward to more.>=))>
