A resident male Leopard ( Panthera pardus ) in the Motswari Private Game Reserve poses beautifully in afternoon light. Makepisi is the name he has been given and this image was taken during our last " The Big Cats " photographic safari to Graeter Kruger.

The way this is lit, he really pops against that background. Nice!

Lovely composition, Mario Moreno, with the camouflage of this animal's coat carried over into the bokeh of the background. The crispness of the whiskers are what rivits my attention, along with the eyes; the whiskers beside the mouth and above the animal's left eye, on the right side of the image.

Its eyes are intent on something; some prey, or perhaps a cat toy; who can say what thoughts cross the mind of a cat?

But one thing is certain: Your frame is of sufficient thickness and darkness to contain this beast! :jump:

Beautiful light, beautiful subject and good techs make for a fine result. Thumbs up.

A beautiful detailed portrait of the leopard. I am not that fond of the mottled background, but it serves the purpose of letting the cat really stand out.. :toast:

Very sharp image, Mario. Love the razor-sharp whiskers. Did you use Gaussian blur on the bg? There seems to be a bit of haziness on the top of the head near the right ear and the ear margin, too. And, maybe it could do with a bit of selective brightening on the face? How would this look in portrait format? At present, there seems to be a little too much room on the right.

Nice and crisp portrait. Personally I love the BG and the space on the right for the leopard to look at.
